Experience the extraordinary journey of nine men and one woman who flee their devastated homeland for a better life. The "Common Dream" by Camila (Gladys Bruno, Haiti) is a story of loss, survival, and faith. It is a modern-day parable for our time. Available at your local bookstore, or order it on the Web at X-libris.com or any fine bookstore by using the ISBN: 0-7388-1085-1.

The Common Dream" traces the unfortunate journey of a group, nine men and one woman, who are crammed in a boat.  They are Caribbean refugees fleeing their homeland.  They know that they are moved by a common dream, but ultimately will discover that they have also a common destiny.

The Story is brushed with great objectivity, and the work is in no way comparable to anything that has been written before.  It describes the people with great elegance, most of them poor but honest, hospitable and courteous, yearning for the political stability that would allow them to achieve a decent standard of living.  Unfortunately, their land is cursed with politicians who give more thought to their pockets than to their constituents’ needs.  For the Refugees leaving their homeland and their loved ones was difficult enough.  Having to sell their land and their livestock as a means to raise passage money was even more difficult. Dispossessed, escaping  with only the clothes on their backs, they embark on a journey that will not only tax their sanity but may cost many of them their freedom or their lives.
